The Real Soccer Moms

Check out this article from the Toronto Star.

I actually play in the same league as a few of the woman they interviewed. And just for the record, they could give Thierry Henry some lessons in what it really means to play like a girl.

Back at the dawn of time, when the dust that would form our sun was just beginning to congeal and fuse and I was at primary school, one of our teachers had a revolutionary idea: let's teach the girls to throw. You see back then, despite softball being the main summer sport for girls nobody had chosen to teach them how to throw. They all threw like girls. So he spent several weeks teaching them and he got some of us boys to help. And guess what? The girls got much better at softball (most were better than half my baseball team). So good that they went on to win the interschool championships three years running. So in my mind, playing like a girl actually means hasn't been trained how to do it properly yet.
