Nobody cares about the Carling Cup, right?

At least, that's what I'm telling myself today.

I've also come up with a few theories for why Liverpool were so abjectly beaten by Arsenal (again) yesterday:

  1. Deliberate loss so that they can concentrate more fully on winning the Champions League this year. Having half of their midfield out injured will naturally make that more difficult, but also means their ultimate triumph will be that much more satisfying.

  2. Jerzy Dudek bought off by Arsene Wenger before the game.

  3. Misguided attempt to replicate previous thrilling cup wins by conceding a whackload of goals in the first half.

  4. Clever ploy by Rafa Benitez to convince the club's owners to give him more money in the transfer window, in hopes of preventing further such shellackings.

  5. London-centric anti-Liverpool conspiracy.

There of course is another possibility, which is that Liverpool are just crap, but I refuse to accept that.

Nah, they were just crap :) Did you see the highlights (or, as you might call them, the lowlights?)
