FIFA has announced that Germany has been awarded the 2011 Women's World Cup, beating a bid from Canada, who were the only other contenders after the other potential host countries had dropped out.

On the one hand, I'm disappointed that the tournament won't be here, but on the other hand, maybe this'll give me an excuse to go to Germany in a few years...
